Lawyer at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transportation.
The Legal Department is a national department at the head office of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. The department is responsible for directing and managing the authority's work in legal matters, providing legal support at all levels of the authority, making initial and review decisions in client cases, and representing the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in legal proceedings. The Client Law Unit is responsible for the client legal area within the Legal Department. The unit's section for international client matters and sentence calculation is now seeking lawyers (position and title: legal expert) based at the head office in Norrköping.

Your main task is to handle and make decisions in client cases within the legal areas for which the section is responsible. The work involves ongoing external contacts with, for example, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Police Authority, as well as international contacts. Additionally, you will represent the authority in court in the cases handled by the section.
